Jay M. Ferriero
President & Chief Executive Officer
Jay M. Ferriero joined Capital Automotive in February 1999 as the Company’s Director of Acquisitions. Mr. Ferriero has forty-two years of experience in commercial, automotive dealership and real estate finance. Prior to joining Capital Automotive, from 1994 to 1999, Mr. Ferriero served as a First Vice President Loan Group and National Accounts Manager at Comerica Incorporated, a leading financial institution serving the automotive retail industry. At Comerica, Mr. Ferriero was responsible for managing the auto dealer lending offices in Florida and Illinois, and had nationwide responsibilities for managing multi-bank credit facilities for some of the largest auto consolidators. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Ferriero was Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer at Comerica Bank & Trust, overseeing all lending activities. Since 1980 and prior to 1991, Mr. Ferriero’s experiences included managing commercial loan processing operations, restructuring problem loans, and originating commercial and auto dealership loans. Mr. Ferriero serves as a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, where he is a graduate with degrees in Finance and Sociology.

Erica B. Powers
Senior Vice President, Treasurer & Chief Accounting Officer
Erica Powers joined Capital Automotive in 2000. She manages all of the accounting and financial reporting for the company and assists in the Finance function. She initially served as Assistant Controller and then Controller of the Company. Prior to joining Capital Automotive, Ms. Powers served for four years as Controller of Fortress Mortgage, a start-up mortgage company owned by The Fortress Group, a roll-up of home builders. Prior to Fortress Mortgage, she was a Senior Accountant and Consultant within the Mortgage and Structured Finance Group of KPMG.
Ms. Powers graduated with a B.A. from Tufts University and an M.S. in Accounting from The American University.

Roger Stattel
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Roger Stattel is the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer who handles the capital markets effort for Capital Automotive. Prior to joining the company in 2016, he was the Director of Finance at DRA Advisors LLC, an investment advisor specializing in real estate investment and management. During his twelve years at DRA, Mr. Stattel handled property level financing for the company’s real estate investments as well as corporate level debt and preferred equity facilities associated with two public to private LBO’s. Before DRA, he was with the real estate practice at Ernst & Young.
Mr. Stattel graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a MBA in Finance and Economics. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in Accounting and Finance and is a CPA.

Daniel E. Garces
Senior Vice President & Director of Acquisitions
Dan is Senior Vice President & Director of Acquisitions at the Company, overseeing investments in the U.S. and Canada. Dan has over twenty-nine years of experience in commercial lending and structuring creative financing alternatives through sale-leasebacks with automotive dealers. Prior to joining CARS in 2002, Dan was a commercial lender at LaSalle Bank in Chicago with a focus on providing credit to a wide array of financial institutions throughout the U.S. including: retail automobile finance, consumer finance, commercial finance, leasing, and mortgage banking companies. Prior to LaSalle, Dan was a lender in the National Dealer Services Group at Comerica Bank in Chicago. He managed a portfolio of dealer group relationships and provided floor plan financing, capital loans, mortgage debt, and other banking services to auto dealers throughout the Midwest. Dan is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago where he received a B.B.A. majoring in Finance with an Accounting concentration.

Stephanie Rochel
Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Stephanie Rochel represents the company on a variety of complex matters. Prior to joining in 2018, she practiced commercial litigation with one of the top firms in construction litigation. Ms. Rochel handled contract negotiations, claim preparation, and complex multi-party ADR and litigation for both domestic and international disputes. In that role, Ms. Rochel presented oral arguments at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Ms. Rochel earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, graduating cum laude. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude. While earning her law degree, she was honored as a Dean’s Circle Fellow (top 10% of the class) and competed with the Barristers Trial Team. Ms. Rochel is admitted to practice in Virginia and certain federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
